Rubber sealing rings are the most common thing. In daily life, it can often be seen that the production process is relatively simple and uses many raw materials. So what exactly causes the deformation of the rubber seal ring? There are mainly the following points:
1. Moderate pressure is the key reason for the permanent deformation of rubber seals
Compared with the two elements mentioned above, the material working pressure has a higher impact on the deformation of rubber O-rings, and it is the most common condition that causes deformation of rubber O-rings under all working conditions. With the development trend of contemporary hydraulic control valves, the working pressure of hydraulic press materials is increasing. The long-term operation of rubber O-rings in such high-pressure natural environments will cause permanent deformation of the O-rings, which is irreversible. Therefore, different raw materials should be selected for different pressures, and rubber raw materials with relative compressive strength should be chosen. Relatively speaking, in order to better address higher pressures, the hardening level of the sealing ring made of pressure resistant raw materials will also increase.
2. Shrinking and stretching are fundamental elements
Because the secret recipe for rubber O-rings is different, the reduction and stretching of rubber O-rings produced by different companies are also different. Under the standard of long-term shrinkage, products may cause the imagination of shrinkage stress relaxation. This type of situation will gradually expand with the passage of time. The longer the time, the smaller the shrinkage and stretching amount, resulting in leakage caused by insufficient ductility. The most immediate way to change O-ring manufacturers, rubber seal ring manufacturers, rubber gasket manufacturers, fluororubber seal rings, seal ring manufacturers, and silicone rings is to increase the cross-sectional specifications of the product, but it will also result in an improvement in the structure of the product.
3. Temperature is a crucial element
Temperature is crucial for the looseness of rubber seals. Regardless of the type of rubber raw material, it will accelerate its high-temperature embrittlement rate. The higher the working temperature, the greater the shrinkage deformation of the vapor. When the deformation of the product exceeds 40%, the O-ring will gradually lose its ductility and cause leakage. When installing rubber O-rings, the original ground stress will occur because the sealing ring will relax for a long time and the temperature will gradually decrease, causing the original ground stress to gradually dissipate. In some cases, it is likely to dissipate with a sudden drop in temperature. Even if the rubber raw material is cold resistant, it will not exceed 25% of the ground stress caused by 20 degrees Celsius. Therefore, when installing rubber O-rings, the original ground stress should be set and the temperature factors in the office environment should be taken into account.
